|
Note: Bohemian painter of small figural landscapes in many genres. He learned the craft from his father, Kristián Grund. His works depict mythical scenes, biblical scenes, battles, images of romantic love, the theater, storms at sea, and ruins. Grund's paintings were popular among the aristocracy and in bourgeois circles. The painters František Karel Grund (1721-1743), and Petr Pavel Christian Grund (1722-1784) were his brothers, as was the harpist Jan Eustach Grund. |
