Bischof, Werner (Swiss photographer, 1916-1954)

Note: Bischof is considered one of the leading photojournalists of the postwar era. He became a member of the "Magnum" agency in 1949, and in 1951 was commissioned by "Life" magazine to document famine in India. He is best known for his moving pictures of children. He was killed in an accident in the Peruvian Andes in 1954.
