Ferrier, Claude Marie (French photographer, 1811-1889, active in France, Italy, and England)

Note: Died 13 June 1889. Ferrier photographed the Universal Exposition at the Crystal Palace, London, England, United Kingdom in 1851. In 1855 Ferrier became a member of the Société française de photographie, and also photographed in Rome, Italy. In 1856 Ferrier photographed Venice, Italy and Reims and Rouen, France to record the damages caused by the flooding of the Rhône River. In 1857 Ferrier introduced the cartes-de-visite format to Nice in the South of France. In 1859 he began to work with Charles Soulier (1840-1875) to cover the campaign of Napoléon III and Victor Emmanuel II in Austria.
