Note: Songwriter, frontman, and only continuous member of The Fall, an influential musical group active from 1976-2017. His lyrics are highly regarded constructs of vernacular language, often presented as complaint or observation. The Fall has famously had over 60 members. Smith and The Fall collaborated on ballets with the dancer Michael Clark and the performance artist Leigh Bowery in the mid-1980s. He wrote and presented a play during the same period, "Hey, Luciani!" |
