Note: Balmer studied designin the workshops of a goldsmith in Sins in the canton of Aargau, then worked in Anton Bühler's studio in Lucerne. From 1853 he was at the academy of art in Düsseldorf, After 1856 he spent a year at the academy in Karlsruhe. Comment on works: painter |
