Posthumus Meyjes, C. B. (Netherlandish architect and editor, 1858-1922)
|
Note: C.B. Posthumus Meyjes studied at the Technical University in Delft, Netherlands. In 1882 he became architect for the Dutch Iron Railway Company, Amsterdam, and in the same year he established himself as an independent architect in Amsterdam, where he was appointed architect of the church buildings of the Dutch Reformed community. He was actively involved with architectural associations and worked as editor on the periodical 'De Opmerker' from 1883 until 1887. As an expert on restoration, he was also for many years a member of the National Committee for the Conservation of Buildings. Dutch architect. |
