Note: Italian cardinal, church historian, scholar, architectural patron and advisor. In restoring various structures in Rome, his ideas were incorporated in that they maintained the design of the original structures, but also they introduced liturgical elements not existing perhaps in those particular buildings, but considered by Baronio to be typical of more ancient churches. |
