Courret, Eugenio (French photographer, 1839-1920, active in Peru)
|
Note: In 1861, Courret arrived in Lima, Peru, from Paris, France, and in 1863, he and his brother Aquiles opened a photographic studio in Lima, Peru, called "Courret Hermanos." Aquiles probably operated the business end of the studio while Eugenio was the photographer. After 1873, Courret took views of the construction of the central railway line for the company ENAFER. The pictures were published in an album entitled "Recuerdos del Perú, Ferrocarril de La Oroya." In 1900, he won a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris. |
