Lassimonne (French photographer, active 19th century)
|
Note: Lassimonne was probably one of three Lassimonne brothers born in Limoges, France, either Claude-Ferdinand, born 1813, Joseph-Henri, born 1818, or François-Ferdinand-Félix, born 1822. Ca. 1850s, Lassimonne worked with another photographer named Firmin, probably in Paris. From 1855 to 1856, Lassimonne hired Jean-Baptiste-Henri Durand-Brager as an assistant, or possibly a partner, to document the Crimean War in Russia. Lassimonne prepared the materials and took the photographs while Durand-Brager dealt with business matters. |
