Lewerentz, Sigurd (Swedish architect, 1885-1975)

Note: Lewerentz was educated in Göteborg at the School of Building at Chalmers Technical College from 1905-1908, and at the Academy of Arts in Stockholm, in 1910. In Stockholm he founded the Free School of Architecture. He began his own private practice in 1911 in Stockholm, later moving to Eskilstuna in 1933 where he directed IDESTA, a steel window factory. Lewerentz produced both religious and secular structures, and was continually involved with cemetery and crematorium projects throughout his career.
