Jeanneret, Pierre (Swiss architect and furniture designer, 1896-1967)

Note: Jeanneret studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva from 1913 until 1915, and then from 1918 to 1921. He was partners with Le Corbusier in Paris from 1921-1922 to 1940. He later formed a partnership with Le Corbusier for a second time in 1950, for the execution of the master plan for Chandigarh in Punjab, India. Jeanneret directed his own architectural firm in Paris from 1944 to 1951. His designs were used by the Wohnbedarf AG. to make furniture for the "Typ M" model apartment at the Werkbundsiedlung Neubühl (Zurich, Switzerland) in 1931. From 1955 to 1965 Jeanneret was Director of the School of Architecture at the University of Chandigarh and served as Architect-in-Chief and City Planner for the State of Punjab. Swiss architect.
