Note: Located in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota; noted as a layer of rock that was deposited 67 to 65 million years ago, at the end of the "age of dinosaurs." Also noted for the presence of the K/T boundary that separates the Cretaceous and Cenozoic, which occurs as a distinct, but discontinuous, marker bed near the top of this formation.
