Note: Said to have been located at the foot of mount Kurios; the exact location of the ancient city remains unknown. By legend, was founded by the Kouretes, or by Thoas, son of Aeneas; was destroyed in the late 3rd century BCE, and the inhabitants founded a new city nearby, Nea Pleuron. |
