Note: Major site of mysterious "cart ruts," which are man-made ancient ruts in rocky surfaces, located throughout the Mediterranean. The ruts may have been tracks for wheeled carts used for transportation, but this theory has been disputed as the ruts seem to have no apparent destination. Some believe that the neolithic ruts have no destination because the region was destroyed by earthquake, and that Malta in fact represents part of Atlantis.
