Note: Short-lived sultanate founded by 'Alā'-ud-Dīn Ḥusayn. Flourished between the late 11th century to the early 12th century. Under Mu'izz-ud-Dīn, Muslim rule was gradually introduced to India. After his assassination, disputes over succession led to takeover by the Khwarezmid dynasty.
