Note: The name Kurpfalz refers to the part of the old Rheinpfalz that lay on the right bank of the Rhine in west central Germany. It was annexed by Baden at the beginning of the 19th century and now forms part of the state of Baden-Württemberg. It includes the cities of Mannheim and Heidelberg.
