Note: Lost settlement and the second capital of the Khazar Khaganate from the 720s to ca. 750. There is no scholarly agreement on its present-day location, based on archaeological research. It was somewhere north of the later Khazarian capital of Atil. Some scholars suggest the modern-day town of Kizlyar in Dagestan is its location. Others suggest it's the present-day town of Tarki.
