Note: The city of Rosenheim is situated at the confluence of the Inn and Mangfall Rivers, in Bavaria to the west of Munich and just north of the Austrian border. It was an important medieval trading town on the route between Italy and northern Europe. Today it is the economic center of the Bavarian lower Alpine area. The main industry is timber. It is noted for its medieval Italian-influenced architecture. The 2004 estimated population was 60,300.
