Note: This is a federally-recognized reservation stewarded by the Los Coyotes Band of Cahuilla & Cupeño Indians. The reservation spans over 2,500 acres bordering the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park and Cleveland National Forest in San Diego County, California. Reservation lands encompass Hot Springs Mountain, the highest point in San Diego County, and are open to the public for recreational use. Though the reservation was first established by an Executive Order in 1889, it was not realized until 1900. An Executive Order dated 1914 expanded the reservation's boundaries by transferring land from the Cleveland National Forest to tribal stewardship.
