Note: Was located near the confluence of the Tigris and Diyala rivers, west of modern Baghdad. Site is noted for temples dedicated to Sumerian gods, a royal palace, and one of the best preserved ziggurats of the Kassite period. It was founded by a Kassite king of Babylon, Kurigalzu I, some time in the 14th century BCE; abandoned after the fall of the Kassite dynasty.
