Note: Noted as largest known causewayed camp in Britain; is the type site for an important Neolithic culture and pottery style; top of hill was enclosed by ditches in 3 concentric rings; this was probably not a permanent settlement, though permanent communities apparently existed below, beside the river terraces; hill was site of burials during the Bronze Age. Located near Brixham; was occupied from prehistoric through Roman times.
