Note: Town on the site of an ancient city in N Campania of about the same size as the present town. Although tombs of the 7th century BCE have been discovered in the area, the first evidence of the Sidicini dates to period of the Samnite wars. It was the capital of the Oscan tribe of the Sidicini, who drove the Aurunci from Roccamonfina.
