Note: This is a federally-recognized reservation stewarded by the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe. The reservation spans approximately 125,000 acres on the eastern shores of the Missouri River in Buffalo, Hughes, and Hyde Counties, South Dakota. It was initially established in 1889, when the US government reclaimed 7.7 million acres of the Tribe's ancestral lands and randomly alloted the current reservation land in trust for the Tribe. |
