Mythische monsters, voorgesteld als reusachtige en angstaanjagende reptielen die gewoonlijk een combinatie van een slangachtige en een krokodilachtige vorm hebben, met sterke klauwen als van een roofdier of roofvogel, en een geschubde huid. Draken worden in het algemeen voorgesteld met vleugels en soms terwijl ze vlammen uitademen. In de heraldiek combineert de draak de vormkenmerken van een reptiel en een zoogdier, aangevuld met vleugels. |
