Note: Caps that are worn by the Pope, larger than a skull-cap and having flaps over the ears. They are often made of red wool or velvet and ornamented with red satin, having swan's down trim or lined with ermine. It is white during the week in albis. The name means "camel-skin cap"; incorporated in the Papal wardrobe since the 12th century.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Hoofddeksel dat ook de oren bedekt en sinds de twaalfde eeuw wordt gedragen door pausen. Vaak gemaakt van rode wol of fluweel en versierd met rood satijn, zwanendons of hermelijn. Tijdens de pinksterweek wordt een witte camauro gedragen. De term betekent ���hoofddeksel van kamelenhuid'.  
French ..... Coiffure du pape, plus large qu'une calotte et descendant sur les oreilles. Le camauro est en velours rouge, orné de satin de même couleur, bordé de duvet de cygne ou doublé d'hermine. Durant la semaine in albis, le camauro est blanc. 
Italian ..... Copricapo del papa, più ampio dello zucchetto e lungo fino alle orecchie. Il camauro è in velluto rosso decorato di raso dello stesso colore, bordato di piume di cigno o foderato d'ermellino. Durante la settimana in albis, il camauro è bianco. 
Portuguese ..... Cobertura para a cabeça, exclusiva do Papa, maior que o solidéu, de forma a cobrir as orelhas. É de veludo vermelho, guarnecido a cetim da mesma cor, debruado com plumas de cisne e forrado a arminho; durante a semana “in albis”, o camauro é branco. 
Spanish ..... Gorro del papa, más amplio que el solideo y de un largo hasta las orejas. Está hecho en terciopelo rojo, decorado de lleno del mismo color, bordado con plumas de cisne o forrado de armiño. Durante la semana in albis, el camauro es blanco.
