Note: Powdery alkaline compound used in paper pulp manufacture and mass deacidification treatments. Magnesium hydroxide is found in nature as the mineral brucite. It is used medicinally as a laxative and antacid. As a suspension in water it is commonly known as milk of magnesia. |

Dutch ..... Een poederige alkalineverbinding die wordt gebruikt in de productie van papierpulp en massaontzuringsmiddelen. In de natuur komt magnesiumhydroxide voor als het mineraal bruciet. Het wordt tevens medicinaal gebruikt, als laxeermiddel en antacidum. Als oplossing in water wordt het wel magnesiummelk genoemd. |
