Note: Sculptors in colonial Latin America who created religious figures, usually representations of Christ, the Virgin, saints and angels for altars, processions, nativity, and passion scenes. Imagineros worked with a variety of materials including stone, bone, ceramic and shell, but primarily with polychromed wood.
