Note: An Asian species naturalized in eastern North America. It grows to 35-50 feet high. Leaves are five to ten inches long and deep green. Flowers are lavender or purple with yellow stripes and appear at branch tips before leaves sprout in Spring.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Aziatische boomsoort die is ingeburgerd in het oosten van Noord-Amerika. De boom wordt zo'n 10 tot 15 meter hoog en de bladeren zijn donkergroen en ongeveer 12 tot 25 cm lang. De bloemen zijn paars of lavendelblauw met gele strepen, en verschijnen in de lente aan het uiteinde van de tak, nog voordat de bladeren ontspruiten.
