Note: The process of securing a nail, bolt, or other rod-like piece that has been driven through a substance by beating back the point or end of the nail or bolt with a hammer or other tool so that the end is turned over and driven back into the substance through which it has passed. Also, the process in which the end of a bolt is beaten down and flattened upon a metal ring or washer put around it for the purpose.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Het proces waarbij een spijker, bout of soortgelijk voorwerp dat door een materiaal heen is geslagen, wordt vastgezet door de punt of het eind van de bout terug te slaan met een hamer of ander gereedschap, zodat het uiteinde wordt omgebogen en teruggeslagen in hetzelfde materiaal. De term verwijst ook naar het proces waarin het uiteinde van een bout naar beneden plat wordt geslagen op een metalen ring of plaatje dat hiertoe om de bout heen is aangebracht.
