Note: Rare mineral that occurs as pale yellow crystals. Phosgenite is formed in the oxidation zone of lead ore deposits. Phosgenite has been identified as a constituent in ancient Egyptian cosmetic powders; it appears to have been synthetically produced using “wet” chemistry. |

Dutch ..... Zeldzaam mineraal dat voorkomt in de vorm van lichtgele kristallen. Fosgeniet ontstaat in de oxidatiezone van loodertsafzettingen. Fosgeniet is aangetroffen als bestanddeel van oud-Egyptische cosmeticapoeders. Het lijkt synthetisch te zijn geproduceerd door middel van 'natte' chemie. |
