Note: Genus containing 35 species of trees and shrubs native to the Southern Hemisphere, including South America and Australasia, with fossil specimens having been found in Antarctica. Formerly these species were included in the family Fagaceae, but genetic tests proved that they are distinct, and they are now in a family their own, the Nothofagaceae. |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 包含35個喬木與灌木樹種,原生於南半球,見於南美洲及澳大拉西亞,南極洲一帶也發現其化石樣本。此屬樹種之前歸入殼斗科,後經基因鑑定證明有差異,現在自成「南山毛櫸科」單一科。 |
Dutch ..... Genus van 35 soorten bomen en struiken, inheems in onder meer Zuid-Amerika en Australazië op het zuidelijk halfrond. Ook zijn er fossiele exemplaren aangetroffen in Antarctica. Vroeger deelde men deze soorten in bij de familie Fagaceae, maar genetische tests hebben aangetoond dat ze verschillen van deze familie. Inmiddels behoren ze tot een eigen familie, de Nothofagaceae. |
