Note: Lamps with a burner that has a cylindrical wick sandwiched between two metal tubes that admit a current of air to the inside of the flame and a chimney to enclose the flame and direct air to the outside of it; use especially for such lamps with a separate fuel reservoir from which fuel is fed to the font and burner on the bird-fountain principle. Argand lamps were invented ca. 1782 by Aimé Argand in Geneva and were manufactured in England by Boulton, in the United States by Cornelius & Co. and in France by Quinquet, after whom they are sometimes named.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 其燈頭乃由夾在兩細長金屬管中間的圓柱形燈芯組成的燈具；金屬管可將氣流輸送至火焰內部，再由圍繞火燄的中空煙管將空氣導出。此種燈頭專用於有獨立儲油器並藉由鳥噴泉原理將燃料送至油壺的燈具。阿爾岡燈是西元1782年由日內瓦的阿爾岡（Aimé Argand）所發明，在英國包爾頓（Boulton）公司、美國康奈列斯公司（Cornelius & Co.）、法國奎恩奎特（Quinquet）公司大量生產，其中有些會以其製造商命名。

| Dutch ..... Lampen voorzien van een brander met een cilindrische pit welke zit vastgeklemd tussen twee metalen buisjes die een luchtstroom naar de binnenzijde van de vlam toevoeren, alsmede een schoorsteentje dat de vlam omhult en de lucht naar buiten toe afvoert; met name te gebruiken voor lampen van dit type met een afzonderlijk brandstofreservoir van waaruit de brandstof wordt toegevoerd naar het bekken en de brander, overeenkomstig het principe van de tuinfontein. Argandlampen zijn circa 1782 uitgevonden door Aimé Argand uit Genève. Ze werden in Engeland gefabriceerd door Boulton, in de Verenigde Staten door Cornelius & Co. en in Frankrijk door Quinquet, en worden daar soms ook aangeduid als ‘Quinquet-lampen’. |
| Spanish ..... Lámparas con un quemador que tiene una mecha cilíndrica metida entre dos tubos de metal que dejan entrar una corriente de aire al interior de la llama y una chimenea para encerrar la llama y dirigir el aire fuera de ella, use especialmente para lámparas semejantes con un depósito de combustible separado desde el cual el combustible alimenta al depósito y al quemador sobre el principio de fuente de pájaro. |
