Ijzerlegering die van nature vezelachtig is; wordt gemaakt door wit gietijzer te smelten, er met een oxiderende vlam overheen te gaan en het tot een massa te rollen; wordt gewaardeerd om de roestbestendigheid en kneedbaarheid. Gebruik 'gesmeed' wanneer er objecten worden beschreven die zijn gemaakt of gevormd door het slaan met een hamer. |
