Note: Refers to the practice of painting scenes while outdoors, rather than in a studio from sketches that may or may not have been made outdoors. | Dutch ..... Verwijst naar het buiten schilderen van taferelen in plaats van in een atelier op basis van schetsen die al dan niet buiten zijn gemaakt. Het wordt vaak gebruikt om te verwijzen naar de impressionistische stijl van schilderen die eind jaren zestig van de 19e eeuw ontstond in Frankrijk en die probeerde de kortstondige effecten van atmosfeer en licht vast te leggen door middel van het direct observeren van de natuur. |
