Note: Species of beech tree that grows to 24 m (79 feet) in height, with divisions at the base into several stems. It is one of the primary species of deciduous forests in Japan. It is grown as an ornamental in the western hemisphere.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Beuksoort die 24 meter hoog kan worden, met een basis die zich vertakt tot verschillende stammen. Het is een van de meest voorkomende bomen in Japanse loofbossen. In het westelijk halfrond wordt de soort geteeld als sierboom.
