Note: A hard, thermoplastic white powder that used as a drier, thickener, emulsifier, and matting agent in paints and varnishes; excess amounts produce soft, noncohesive films. Aluminum stearate is also used to waterproof fabrics, ropes, paper, leather, concrete, and stucco. It is used as an ingredient in photographic emulsions. It forms gels with turpentine, mineral spirits, and oils.

| Dutch ..... Een hard thermoplastisch wit poeder dat wordt gebruikt als een droogmiddel, verdikkingsmiddel, emulgator en matteermiddel in verven en vernissen; bovenmatige hoeveelheden vormen een zachte, niet-bindende folie. Aluminiumstearaat wordt ook gebruikt om stoffen, touwen, papier, leer, beton en stucwerk waterdicht te maken. Het wordt gebruikt als een ingrediënt van fotografische emulsies. Het vormt gel met terpentijn, terpentine en oliën. |
