Note: Members of a class of parasitic flatworms that live in the digestive tract of vertebrates as adults. They are fluid-feeding with a knoblike head provided with suckers and hooks, a short neck, and the rest of the body made up of a series of identical segments packed with reproductive organs. Larvae live within the gut vertebrates and arthropods, adults within vertebrates only, absorbing the hosts' food directly across their body wall; they reach a length of 40 feet in some species.

Chinese (traditional) ..... 為寄生扁蟲的綱,成體時期寄生於脊椎動物的消化道中。牠們以流質為食,頭節呈球狀且具吸盤與鉤,頸節短,身體的其餘部分則由一連串相同的體節所組成,體節內有生殖器官。牠們在幼體時期寄生於脊椎動物與節肢動物的腸道中,成體時期則僅寄生於脊椎動物體內,直接經由體壁吸取宿主的食物養分;某些物種的體長可達四十呎。
