Note: Refers to a system of projection generally used in map-making and based on the principle of a hollow cone being placed over a sphere so that when the cone is unrolled the line of tangency becomes the central or standard parallel of the area being mapped. In this system, all parallels of latitude are arcs of concentric circles and the meridians of longitude are straight lines generated from the cone's vertex to the divisions of the standard parallel. It is typically derived from a projection of the globe on a cone drawn with a point above one of the poles and tangent to the Earth or other heavenly body at one selected parallel. It may also be derived from a projection where the cone is arranged to intersect the sphere at two closely spaced parallels.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種製作地圖常用的投影方法，假設將一中空圓錐置於一球體上，則圓錐表面展開時，圓錐與球面間的相切線即為投影成像之圖面的中央平行圈（或稱為標準平行圈）。在圓錐投影圖中，緯線為同心圓弧，經線則為從圓錐頂角延伸至標準平行圈圈上各段的直線。投影方式一般是在球體的極點上方繪一圓錐，圓錐與地球或其他星體等球體的其中一條緯線圈相切，再將球體投影在圓錐上，而圓錐亦可與球體相交於兩鄰近緯線圈之間。 |
| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar een projectiesysteem dat algemeen wordt gebruikt in de cartografie en dat is gebaseerd op het principe van een holle kegel die zodanig over een bol is geplaatst dat, wanneer de kegel wordt afgewikkeld, de raaklijn de centrale of standaardparallel van het in kaart gebrachte gebied vormt. In dit systeem zijn de parallellen concentrische cirkels en bestaan de meridianen uit de rechte lijnen van de punt van de kegel tot de divisies van de standaardparallel. De kegelprojectie wordt doorgaans afgeleid van een projectie van de bol op een kegel vanuit een punt boven een van de polen en op de raaklijn van de aarde of een ander hemellichaam op één geselecteerde parallel. Ze kan ook worden afgeleid van een projectie waarbij de kegel zodanig is geplaatst dat deze de bol bij twee dicht bij elkaar geplaatste parallellen kruist. |

Se refiere a un sistema de proyección utilizada en general en confección de mapas y que se basa en el principio de un cono hueco colocado sobre una esfera de modo que, cuando el cono está desenrrollado, la línea de tangencia pasa a ser el paralelo central o estándar de la superficie por representar en el mapa.
Por lo tanto el objeto tridimencional se representa proyectando todos sus puntos sobre el plano del cuadro mediante lineas rectas que convergen en un punto arbitrario. |
