Note: Masquerades held by the secret society named Gelede of the Yoruba people of West Africa, performed by masked, costumed dancers, often impersonating women, for the purpose of placating the older women of the community and encouraging them to use their powers for community well-being; they are held when society members die, and during the society's annual festival, on the afternoon following the nightlong performance of the Efe masquerade.

| Chinese (traditional) ..... 西非約魯巴（Yoruba）部族中，由名為傑利地（Gelede）之秘密社群所舉辦的化妝舞會，由戴著面具、穿著服裝的舞者演出，通常扮演婦女，其目的在於撫慰社群中的年長婦女，並且鼓勵她們發揮其力量祈求社群福祉；通常在社群成員去世時和社群年度節日期間舉辦，在艾非（Efe）化妝舞會一整夜的演出之後的下午接續舉行。 |
| Dutch ..... Te gebruiken voor maskerades die worden gehouden door het geheime genootschap Gelede van het Yorubavolk in West-Afrika, uitgevoerd door gemaskerde en gekostumeerde dansers die meestal vrouwen uitbeelden met als doel de oudere vrouwen uit de gemeenschap gunstig te stemmen en hen aan te moedigen hun krachten aan te wenden voor het welzijn van de gemeenschap; ze worden gehouden wanneer een lid van de gemeenschap sterft en tijdens het jaarlijkse festival van het genootschap, op de middag na de uitvoering van de Efe maskerade die de hele nacht duurt. |
| Spanish ..... Se emplea para las mascaradas llevadas a cabo por la sociedad secreta llamada Gelede of the Yoruba people of West Africa, representadas por enmascarados, bailarines disfrazados, frecuentemente personificando mujeres. Su propósito es el de aplacar a las mujeres mayores de la comunidad y alentarles para que utilicen sus poderes a favor del bienestar de la comunidad; tienen lugar cuando los miembros de la sociedad mueren, y durante el festival anual de sociedad, en la tarde siguiente a la representación nocturna de la mascarada Efe. |
