Note: Japanese transverse flutes of the No theater, made from three to six short lengths of bamboo joined together. They resemble the "ryuteki" in that they have seven fingerholes, a balancing weight in the upper end, a red-lacquered bore, and a wrapping of bark or twine, but are distinct from them in having a short tube inserted in the bore between the mouth hole and the nearest fingerhole, a metal ornament embedded in the upper end, and the inner red lacquer showing on the outside of the mouth hole and fingerholes.

Additional Notes:
Chinese (traditional) ..... 日本「能劇」所使用之橫笛,由三到六小段竹子連接而成。與「龍笛」一樣具有七個指孔、上端有一個平衡用重物、管身塗覆紅色亮漆、纏繞樹皮或麻繩,但與龍笛不同處在於:「能管」在吹孔與第一指孔間的管身插入一截短管、管身上端嵌有金屬裝飾、吹孔與指孔外側可見內部的紅色亮漆。 
Dutch ..... Japanse dwarsfluiten van het No theater, gemaakt van drie tot zes aan elkaar gebonden korte stukken bamboe. Net zoals de 'ryuteki' met zeven vingergaten op gelijke afstanden, een balansgewicht bovenaan, een roodgelakte boring en een omhulsel van schors of twijn. In tegenstelling tot bij de 'ryuteki' is een korte buis in de boring aangebracht, tussen het mondstuk en het eerste vingergat, is bovenaan een metalen versiering aangebracht en is de rode lak, waarmee de boring bedekt is, bij mondstuk en vingergaten ook aan de buitenzijde aangebracht. 
German ..... Japanische Querflöte des Nō-Theaters aus drei bis sechs kurzen, zusammengebundenen Bambusrohren. Sie ähnelt der ["Ryuteki"](300216728) darin, dass sie sieben Grifflöcher hat, ein Ausgleichsgewicht am oberen Ende, eine rot lackierte Röhre und eine Umwicklung aus Rinde oder Schnur; sie unterscheidet sich aber durch eine kurze Röhre, die zwischen dem Mundloch und dem ersten Griffloch eingefügt ist, eine am oberen Ende eingelassene Metallverzierung und die rote Lackierung im Inneren, sichtbar an der Außenseite von Mundloch und Fingerlöchern. 
Spanish ..... Flautas traveseras japonesas del teatro NO, hechas de tres a seis trozos cortos de bambú pegados juntos. Se asemejan a "ryuteki” en que tienen siete orificios digitales, un contrapeso en el extremo superior, un diámetro interior laqueado en rojo, y una envoltura de corteza o cáñamo, pero a diferencia de ellas tienen un tubo corto introducido en el diámetro interior, entre el orificio de boca y el orificio digital más próximo, un ornamento metálico incrustado en el extremo superior, y el laqueado rojo interior asomándose en el lado exterior del orificio de boca y de los orificios digitales.
