Note: Ornate late-19th- and early-20th-century kerosene table lamps consisting of globular or egg-shaped bases of glass and brass or all brass into which fitted a metal font and a glass shade, often either spherical or hemispherical. Bases and shades were frequently matching, especially when they were of painted glass. Refers also to similar lamps with fancy fabric shades.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Sierlijke petroleumtafellampen uit het eind van de 19e en het begin van de 20e eeuw met een bol- of eivormig voetstuk van glas en koper of alleen koper waarin een metalen houder en een glazen kap pasten die vaak rond of halfrond waren. Het voetstuk en de kap pasten vaak bij elkaar, vooral als ze van geverfd glas waren. De benaming wordt ook gebruikt voor soortgelijke lampen met versierde stoffen kappen. 
German ..... Reich verzierte Petroleum-Tischlampe aus dem späten 19. und frühen 20. Jahrhundert, bestehend aus einem kugel- oder eiförmigen Sockel aus Glas und Messing oder ganz aus Messing, in den ein Metallbehälter mit einem Glasschirm, häufig in der Form einer Kugel oder Halbkugel, hineinpasst. Vielfach passen Sockel und Schirm zueinander, insbesondere wenn sie aus gefärbtem Glas bestehen. Bezieht sich auch auf eine ähnliche Lampe mit kunstvollem Stoffschirm. 
Spanish ..... Lámparas de mesa de kerosén decorativas de fines del siglo XIX y principios del siglo XX que consisten en bases globulares o en forma de huevo de vidrio y bronce o enteras de bronce en las que se ajusta un depósito de metal y una pantalla de metal, ya sea esférica o hemisférica. Las bases y las pantallas frecuentemente hacían juego, especialmente cuando eran de vidrio pintado. Use también para lámparas parecidas con elegantes pantallas de tela.
