Note: Refers to the style and period corresponding to the region of Sumatra from the 11th to the 14th century. The style is noted for its rich, varied textile traditions used in various ritual contexts and featuring woven silk and cotton designs, tapestries, embroidery, gold cloth works, and mantle cloths of blue and earth red colors with warp ikat designs of interlocking lozenges. Lapidary production in this style features gold medallions, armbands and necklaces adorned with jewels as well as locks of hair and animal tusks and claws, and bejeweled, crescent-shaped headdresses with tiny models of traditional houses hung from hairpins. Sculptural production in this style features bronze and stone images of Buddha reminiscent of work from the Srivijaya and Majapahit periods.

| Dutch ..... Verwijst naar de stijl en periode die in verband worden gebracht met de regio Sumatra van de 11de tot de 14de eeuw. De stijl staat bekend om zijn rijke, gevarieerde textieltradities die worden gebruikt in uiteenlopende rituele contexten en worden gekenmerkt door ontwerpen met geweven zijde en katoen, tapijten, borduurwerk, werken met goudlaken en mantelstoffen in blauwe en aardrode kleuren met 'warp ikat'-ontwerpen van in elkaar grijpende ruiten. Kenmerkend voor de edelsteenproductie in deze stijl zijn gouden medaillons, armbanden en halssieraden versierd met juwelen en haarlokken en slagtanden en klauwen van dieren, en met edelstenen bezette, halvemaanvormige hoofdtooien met kleine modellen van traditionele huizen hangend aan haarspelden. De beeldhouwkunst in deze stijl wordt gekenmerkt door bronzen en stenen Boeddhabeelden die doen denken aan werk uit de Srivijaya- en Majapahit-periode. |
| Spanish ..... Se refiere al estilo y período que corresponde a la región de Sumatra de los siglos XI al XIV. El estilo es célebre por sus variadas tradiciones textiles, usadas en los diversos contextos rituales y que ofrecen seda tejida y diseños de algodón, tapices, bordado, obras de tela de oro, y telas de manto en colores azul y rojo tierra rojos con diseños de urdimbre ikat de rombos entrelazados. La producción lapidaria en este estilo ofrece medallones de oro, brazaletes y collares adornados con joyas así como aldabas de pelo y colmillos y garras de animal, tocados en forma de luna creciente con modelos diminutos de casas tradicionales colgados de las horquillas. La producción escultórica en este estilo ofrece imágenes de Buda de bronce y de piedra que recuerdan las obras de los períodos Srivijaya y Majapahit. |
