Note: Hellenistic pottery characterized by very sumptuous decoration, combining plastic ornamentation with painted decoration in a technique where white slip covers the surface and design is added in tempera colors. It is named after the town of Canosa, Apulia, Italy.

Dutch ..... Hellenistisch pottenbakkersgoed dat gekenmerkt wordt door zijn weelderige versiering. Plastische ornamentatie en geschilderde decoratie werden gecombineerd in een techniek waarin het oppervlak wordt bedekt met wit slib en het ontwerp wordt aangebracht in temperaverf. Het aardewerk is vernoemd naar de stad Canosa in Apulië, Italië 
German ..... Hellenistische Keramik, die sich durch üppige Verzierungen aus plastischen Ornamenten und Bemalung auszeichnet. Die Gefäße besitzen einen weißen Tonschlickerüberzug und wurden mit Temperafarben bemalt. Die Keramik ist benannt nach der Stadt Canosa in der Region Apulien in Italien.
