Dutch ..... Chemisch element met symbool Y en atoomnummer 39. Yttrium lijkt sterk op lanthanidemetalen en wordt vaak geclassificeerd als 'zeldzame aarde'. De belangrijkste toepassing van yttrium is de fabricage van fosforescerende stoffen voor televisieschermen en leds. Fosforescerende stoffen met yttrium stralen helder rood licht uit wanneer ze worden aangeslagen door elektronen.
