Dutch ..... Kleine, lage, open vaten die worden gebruikt voor zout aan tafel. Worden gemaakt in een verscheidenheid aan vormen en kunnen een platte onderkant hebben of op pootjes staan of op een voet met een steel. Gebruik 'standing salts' voor grote vaten voor zout. 
German ..... Kleines, niedriges Gefäß, das genutzt wurde, um Salz bei Tisch vorzuhalten; wurde in den verschiedenartigsten Formen hergestellt, kann einen flachen Sockel aufweisen oder auf Beinen stehen oder einen gestielten Fuß besitzen. Für hohe Gefäße, die genutzt wurden, um Salz aufzubewahren, verwende den Begriff "Salzfass". 
Spanish ..... Pequeñas vasijas abiertas y bajas usadas para contener sal en la mesa; hechas en una variedad de formas y pueden tener una base plana o descansar en patas o en una base con pie. Para vasijas altas usadas para contener sal, use "salero de caldero".
