Note: Italian cupboards that were originally cassoni with doors instead of a lid, but from the 16th century developed into two-tiered pieces similar to English press cupboards. Generally having massive architectural decoration, including pilasters supporting a monumental cornice; frequently made for sacristies.

Additional Notes:
Dutch ..... Italiaanse wandkasten die oorspronkelijk bestonden uit cassoni met een deur in plaats van een deksel maar die zich later (16e eeuw) tot een tweedelig meubel ontwikkelden dat op de Engelse perskast lijkt. Ze hebben meestal veel architectonische decoratie, inclusief pilaren met een monumentale deklijst. Ze worden vaak voor sacristieën gebruikt. 
Spanish ..... Originalmente tableros o estructuras abiertas de estantes sobre los que tazas, especialmente de plata, podría colocarse para almacenamiento o exhibición, a menudo usadas de forma intercambiable con buffet y tocadores en la Edad Media. Surgidos en el siglo XV, fueron agregadas las puertas. Hoy término genérico para todos los receptáculos semejantes encerrados por puertas, algunas veces empotrados.
