Note: Wood screws designed to attach a stop bead, which is a narrow wooden strip that is molded on one edge, located in a door or window frame, and upon which a door or window sash closes. The screw is often placed within a washer-like recessed metal adjuster, to allow for periodic unscrewing and adjustment of the stop if the sash operation becomes difficult due to seasonal climate changes, and to allow for the easy removal of the stop for painting or glazing.
