Note: A bright white and sparkling marble, sometimes with orange stains, that is quarried near Olympia in the Peloponnesus in Greece. Similar to Parian marble but with more compact texture and smaller grain, it is the only white marble that does not effervesce upon contact with nitric acid.

| Dutch ..... Een helderwit en sprankelend marmer, soms met oranje vlekken, dat wordt gedolven in de buurt van Olympia op de Peloponnesus in Griekenland. Dit marmer is vergelijkbaar met Parisch marmer, maar heeft een compactere structuur en een fijnere korrel, en is het enige witte marmer dat niet begint te borrelen als het in contact komt met salpeterzuur. |
| Spanish ..... Mármol blanco brillante y con chispas, a veces con manchas anaranjadas, extraído cerca de Olimpia, en el Peloponeso, Grecia. Similar al mármol de Paros, pero con una textura más compacta y un grano más pequeño, es el único mármol blanco que no se torna efervescente en contacto con el ácido nítrico.
