Note: A base metal, usually silver, copper, or bronze, that has been coated with a transparent orange-red lacquer to produce a rich gold-colored finish that appears to be gilt. Vermeil was common in the 19th century but rarely used today. For gold-plated silver, use "silver gilding." |

Chinese (traditional) ..... 一種透明的紅色或橘紅色亮漆,用於已鍍銀之基底金屬或表面上,以產生金色末道加工的效果。十九世紀時鍍金漆廣泛被應用,其所創造物件有似鍍金的外表,不過今日已鮮少使用。 |
Dutch ..... Een transparante rode of oranjerode lak die een gouden afwerkingslaag produceert bij gebruik op een basismetaal of een verzilverd oppervlak. Vermeil werd in de 19de eeuw veel gebruikt om voorwerpen te maken die er verguld uitzagen. Tegenwoordig wordt het nauwelijks gebruikt. |
Spanish ..... Laca trasnparente roja o roja-anaranjada que produce una terminación dorada cuando se aplica sobre un metal de base o sobre una superficie previamente plateada. El uso del vermeil fue extensivo en el siglo XIX con el fin de crear objetos que aparezcan como dorados, pero es escasamente utilizado hoy. |
