Note: Small printed cards on coated cardstock having a glossy surface resembling porcelain, usually bearing tradesmen's advertisements and often images. They may be lithographed or printed in combination with hand painting for metallic details. Production ceased in the late 19th or early 20th-centuries because the materials contained lead, which was toxic to the printers and painters who made the cards.

Dutch ..... Gedrukte kaartjes op gecoat karton met een glanzend oppervlak dat op porselein lijkt, gewoonlijk met commerciĆ«le advertenties en vaak met afbeeldingen. Ze kunnen gelithografeerd of gedrukt zijn, en handmatig beschilderd zijn met metallieke details. De productie werd eind 19e of begin 20e eeuw gestaakt, omdat de gebruikte materialen lood bevatten, dat giftig was voor de drukkers en schilders die de kaarten maakten.
